Cropping with Pixel 3
Walking to a colleague’s office on campus, spotted this student resting. Wish I would have kept the original shot to indicate just how much I cropped for results. I didn’t but my point is…I was not close, but got the photo I wanted.
Because it’s there
Ok, why take a photo of boat slips being built? Because it’s there?
Yes, it’s Winter 2019 and for the last year or so boat slips for large yachts and sailboats have been multiplying rapidly.
Why? Rich folks are getting richer. Is that a good or bad thing?
That’s a political/economic question.
Because it’s there…my Pixel 3 in my pocket, a thought and now it’s on my blog.
Tiger’s back
Here’s a shot I couldn’t have taken in the past with a camera. BUT, phones are allowed at these events.
I’ve attended this event when it was called the Northern Trust Open in past years. However, this was the first time I’ve seen Tiger Woods since the Phoenix Open back in 2009 I think.
This photo was the best I could do given the crowd. Crazy crowd with rude and obnoxious men witnessed by yours truly.
My favorite photo of the day came as a bus was delivering me back to Santa Monica.
Cherry blossom treat…
Whipped out the Pixel 3 near sundown today for this scene just outside our place in a peaceful common area.
Breakfast Bazaar
Available light..
I’m often asked to take a photo with my Pixel 3 in awkward, available lighting. In this photo, Ellie and friends are headed out to a bar mitzvah. I turned off the overhead lights I can’t stand and used light coming from dining room light.
Bazaar effect..
I couldn’t help myself when I came upon this oil slick in a local harbor. Did a little cropping and applied an effect available with the camera app called ‘bazaar’.
Splatter art?
Farm fresh poached eggs can be messy. This morning I was pleased with the results. Close up work with Pixel 3.
