Instincts and discoveries…

Airstream on Santa Monica Pier
Airstream on Santa Monica Pier

On one of my many morning walks recently, I found this Airstream on the Santa Monica Pier. I love these aircraft-like living modules. My instincts pulled my over to take this photo. (of course, Pixel 3)

Instincts to take a photo or video are helped along by:

  • Google stores every photo or video taken on your Pixel phone, no limit.
  • Even a poor shot can be edited into something worthwhile.
  • I’m always carrying my phone.

Here’s what I discovered in this photo that pleased me:

  • The photo contained many ‘likable’ things like ‘Cotton Candy’ sign, birds overhead, reflection of sitting area and the ocean.
  • Colors didn’t enhance the photo (gray skies, colors not complementing each other) so I converted it to B&W on the phone.
  • Angles and crossing lines enhanced the overall look to the photo.

To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event.
